Firefox didn't need any special manoevres to end up where it is now, did it? I truly believe that a desktop OS does need a browser. And personally, I'd rather that browser be shipped vanilla from MS, than be integrated from an OEM with god knows what crap inside it. Toolbars, etc, take your bloody pick. At least with a vanilla IE, I can use google, and d/l whatever browser takes my fancy. Or I can use IE, if I need it.
