		<description>Free (through the Freebox) has been using Dreambox and VLC to provide TV over ADSL (over IP actually) to their customers. Basically the Dreambox got the DV-B feed, VLC unicast it to another VLC hosted on a server that will eventually recompress down to 2Mbits/s (at that time that was the limit) to multicast it on the network.

That was in 2003.</description>
